Although DJ CEEBROWN’s music career started in 1995, his love and passion for music began as a child studying his uncle, an avid record collector in the 70s and 80s. With an ear trained from his youth, DJ CEEBROWN’s passion for DJing was ignited by DMC competitions, learning battle routines performed by greats such as the Beat Junkies, X- man and ISP. Through steadfast devotion and a natural talent for the art of performance, CEEBROWN quickly acquired turntable skills that would lead to several West Coast tours in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and eventually throughout the entirety of Europe and Japan, where he solidified himself as an international presence amongst well-respected artists. Between 2004 and 2008, CEEBROWN amassed an impressive body of work, releasing various mixtapes, becoming bandmates with Belgium luminary DJ Grazzhoppa, and DJing for The Pharcyde on their critically acclaimed reunion at Rock the Bells Tour.
After decades of refining his craft, CEEBROWN is now widely recognized as one of the key figures in DJ culture, both in his hometown of Los Angeles and abroad. To date, his DJ sets have been featured on a number of popular radio shows across the nation, including Southern California’s KPFK and New York’s East Village Radio. Since 2012, he has embarked on several world tours as a Delicious Vinyl DJ with Bizarre Ride Live, a show celebrating the 20 year release of the classic album, Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde. He currently holds a residency at Bodega, one of LA’s fastest growing and most popular parties, focused on world music, which he began in 2009.
More recently, CEEBROWN has also been DJing for the likes of Thurz, a Red Bull Sound Select artist and Polyester the Saint who has produced for and been featured on music with artists such as Chuck Inglish, Freddie Gibbs, Dam Funk, Casey Veggies, and Dom Kennedy among others.
With an ever widening musical taste that includes hip hop, Brazilian beats, samba, soulful house and dubstep, CEEBROWN continues to reinvent himself while igniting dance floors across the country and beyond.
